In an historic move during the Institute’s General Chapter
in Rome, Sr Suzanne (Sue) Phillips FMM has been elected as Leader of the
Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, an international communion of 6272
Sisters working in seventy six countries.
The daughter of Bill and Aileen Phillips of Berwick Melbourne, Sue
entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in 1977.
Her mission and ministry have included Australia and Morocco. During the
last six years she has been a Councillor on the FMM International
Leadership Team based in Rome. Her knowledge of languages and extensive
cross cultural experience complement the deep spiritual gifts which Sue
brings to this period of leadership and service.
The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary unite in joy and thanksgiving to God
for the blessings of this appointment and to Sue for her generosity and
commitment. |
